The Grey Bruce Local Immigration Partnership has been selected as one of five organizations in Canada to join the World Education Services program.
The purpose of the collaboration is to find solutions to the nationwide labour crisis.
World Education Services launched the #ImmigrantsWork program to help community partners mobilize local employers to co-design solutions that help identify, recruit, hire, and retain local immigrant talent.
GBLIP Coordinator Deepikaa Gupta says that the program is a locally driven workforce development solution, to address how to mobilize employers, and to also foster inclusion in the workforce.
She adds that employers throughout Grey and Bruce Counties are welcome to reach out to GBLIP to be part of the group looking to recruit and retain newcomers to the community as employees.
“We are in the process of formulating that group of foundational partners, so if they want to be part of this and want to address their business challenges… they are more than welcome to join.”
The Grey Bruce Local Immigration Partnership is a collaborative community initiative between Grey and Bruce Counties designed to fill gaps in the local labour force by improving the successful integration of newcomers and is funded by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.
