The Nature Conservancy of Canada is reminding everyone this summer to be careful of turtles on local roadways.
The organization says that it’s important to keep an eye out for the reptiles trying to cross roads.
They say that if you try and help a turtle cross the road, it’s important to make sure that the road is safe for you before pulling over.
They say to be careful when picking up the animals since their shells can be delicate.
All eight of the wild turtle species in Ontario are listed as endangered or threatened.
