Tannahill Funeral Home in Owen Sound has been sold.
Bruce Tannahill says the family business was started in 1962 by his father, Dave and his grandfather Bill.
In 1994 it was sold to Bruce, who has been connected to the Funeral home since he was able to drive a car 36 years ago.
Taylor Brown has bought the business, but the name will remain the Tannahill Funeral home.
Brown already owns Funeral Homes in Port Elgin and Paisley.
Bruce Tannahill says it was important to him that the business went to a local independent company.
The deal closed December 1st, but the staff remain on with the new company.
Earle Hall continues on as Manager, and Bruce Tannahill will assume a part time role in the new company.
