A house fire was extinguished by the Owen Sound Fire Department on Saturday.
According to Owen Sound Acting Fire Captain Glenn Welsh, the incident occurred on 8th Avenue West in the 1300 block at around 6:30 a.m.
Welsh notes when crews arrived, they were met with heavy fire and smoke coming from the basement and the main level of the home.
While no damage cost has been estimated as of yet, Welsh says there was extensive damage to the home.
While battling the blaze, the Owen Sound Fire Department was assisted by the Inter-Township Fire Department, with the police and EMS attending the scene as well.
Welsh says by the time they were done and the last truck had left the scene, it was about 3:45 p.m.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
