Starting today, you'll have to start paying again to use public transit in Owen Sound.
Fares are now reinstated on city buses after being waived in March during the early stages of the pandemic to help reduce the financial burden on residents who rely on the service and to ensure bus drivers weren't handling money.
The city has since put new safety procedures in place to help protect drivers and passengers. This includes limiting the amount of riders per bus to six people to allow for adequate physical distancing.
The cost of a bus fare in Owen Sound is $2.50 for students and $3 for adults.
