The Grey Bruce Health Unit has received the final test results for staff and residents at Brucelea Haven Long-Term Care Home in Walkerton.
Two staff members at the home had tested positive and the County, which owns the home says the decision to test all residents and staff was made and testing was conducted over the past two weeks.
A media release from the County says, “It is with relief that all remaining tests of staff and residents for COVID-19 are negative.”
County staff say that means the outbreak is officially over.
In a statement, County Warden Mitch Twolan says “We are relieved to have all of the test results back and to know that at this time there were only two cases of COVID-19. Bruce County Council and staff will continue to provide excellent care in our long-term care homes and to do our best to keep COVID-19 at bay.”
