New hours of operation are now in effect at the post office in Williamsford.
Canada Post is cutting services to save money across Canada.
In Williamsford, there will be no more Saturday service — effective today — and the hours that the post office is open during the week are changing.
The post office in Williamsford is now open from 9:15 AM to 1:15 PM and 2 PM to 5 PM Monday to Thursday.
On Friday, the post office will be open from 10:30 AM until 2 PM.
However, Canada Post spokesperson Eugene Knapik says they have received a lot of feedback from area residents who want to have service later at least one night a week.
Knapik says the request is being looked at, and they may extend the hours of service for one night each week — but that decision hasn’t been made.
Several other small post offices are also closing on Saturdays.
After April 28th, the Post Office at Feversham, east of Markdale in Grey County will close on Saturdays.
The other closures are in Brunner, which is south of Listowel in Perth County, and two closer to London at Woodham, and at Kippen, Ontario.
