The hot weather and humidex advisories means cooling stations for people who need a break from the heat.
In Collingwood, the Library, Arena and Museum are being offered as a place for people who don’t have air conditioning, to escape the hot temperatures for a few hours.
The City of Owen Sound has opened City Hall, the Library, the Bayshore Community Centre, and the Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre as public cooling centers during regular business hours.
The atrium of the Grey Bruce Health Unit building will also be open during regular business hours, and water is available at all five locations.

Due to the current heat and humidity levels, the Town of Hanover is encouraging residents and visitors to access a Town facility equipped with air conditioning and appropriate public spaces. The following locations shall be open and providing spaces as public cooling centres, on July 15, 16, 17, 2013 with future dates to be confirmed.

The YMCA is offering cooling centres at many of its branches across Simcoe Muskoka including Wasaga Beach, Collingwood and Midland.
Hours are generally from 1 PM to 4 PM each day Monday to Friday, but you may want to call ahead to be sure of the times.
There are three cooling centre locations in Orillia — Orillia City Centre, Public Library,
and Rotary Place — to allow the public to escape the extreme heat
especially those who are most vulnerable.
Hours of operation vary during the week but the City Centre and
Library will both remain until 8 PM Monday and Rotary Place until 9.
It will reopen Tuesday morning at 8 AM at the City Centre and at 9 at both Rotary Place and the Library.
In addition, the City has opened four splash pads at McKinnell Square
Park, Clayt French Park, Victoria Park/Memorial Park, and Moose Beach.
There will also be lifeguards on duty between 12 Noon and 7 PM at Couchiching Beach Park and Moose Beach at Tudhope Park.
In Ramara Township, the administration building on Highway 12 in
Brechin and the Ramara Centre on Highway 12 just outside Orillia will
both be open as cooling centres from 9 AM to 9 PM Tuesday, Wednesday,
and Thursday.
Other opportunities include public buildings such as libraries or other air-conditioned buildings such as malls or cinemas.
