The official ribbon cutting ceremony for the new clubhouse at Saugeen Golf Club will be held Friday afternoon at 5 PM.
The project, which has been in the discussion stage for more than a decade and a half, will become a reality when the ribbon is cut.
Saugeen Golf Club General Manager Jeff Myatt is understandably excited about the opening of the new clubhouse and the many benefits it will create for the club and for the community.
Overall, Myatt relates the biggest upgrades will be to the food & beverage service provided by the club with a banquet hall separate from the restaurant plus greater accessibility to the facility.
The price tag for the project is just under two million dollars which Myatt finds impressive based on comparisons to similar upgrades at facilities in larger communities.
Myatt didn’t offer a projection or a percentage increase anticipated by the new facility in terms of expanded revenue, stating because the club is a not-for-profit operation, their priority is to offer upgraded service and then deal with the revenue stream as it becomes reality.
