The Town of Saugeen Shores says work is almost done on Port Elgin’s Goderich Street.
They say in a post on social media, “As we head into the holiday weekend, the road will be open and ready to serve our residents and visitors one month ahead of schedule.”
The street is the main route through downtown and makes up most of the business section in Port Elgin.
The Town says there are just a few things left to do, noting the crew will be working on touch ups next week and there may be localized traffic restrictions as they finish up.
That will be followed by clean up and removal of equipment.
The Town says, “Thank you for your patience and understanding as we near the finish line on this important project.”
The Goderich Street resurfacing project included some minor underground infrastructure work and the restoration of the brick maple leaf intersections in the downtown.
