The Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB) is updating its multi-year strategic plan.
The new plan, which sets the direction of the BWDSB over the next few years, includes three priorities.
Having a safe supporting learning community is the first priority in the updated plan. It includes working to support well-being, equity, and inclusiveness, as well as value students and their voices, engage families and the community to support students and enhance learning, and continue work on reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.
The second priority focuses on quality education by providing engaging and relevant learning experiences, and use methods to support competency and skill development in literacy and math
The third priority is about aligning resources for student success by using human, technological, and financial resources to maximize efficiencies, as well as encourage partnerships, and promote and support environmental stewardship.
This updated plan comes after the BWDSB voted last year to review the existing multi-year strategic plan, and with feedback from the community, the trustees incorporated the changes in late fall.
BWDSB Chair Jane Thomson says, “We are excited to forge a new path with our updated multi-year strategic plan, which guides our work in supporting students on their learning journey as they navigate the roadmap to growth and success.
