The Cargill and District Community Foundation (CDCF) is supporting a project to restore the Centennial Park Pool.
The $2,000 donation to the Diving Board Project comes after the previous diving boards at the pool were removed during the pandemic when they were found to have reached the end of their useful life.
Since the diving boards removal, the Municipality of Brockton says in a release, there has been strong public interest in adding a new feature to the pool to enhance the experience for swimmers.
The municipality has launched a fundraising initiative to purchase a new diving board, costing almost $35,000. The goal is to raise over $17,400 through community donations to cover half of the project cost.
Recreation Programming Supervisor Lisa Fagan says they are grateful for the support from the Cargill and District Community Foundation.
“Each donation moves us closer to this new addition the community has been asking for. We deeply appreciate the CDCF’s continued commitment to our community and contributions of support,” says Fagan.
Anyone interested in making a donation to the project is encouraged to contact Fagan on the municipal website here, or call 519-881-0625.
