Two online fundraisers have been launched following a fatal workplace incident in Chepstow.
At about 6 a.m. Friday, May 23rd, OPP, Bruce County Paramedics, and Brockton firefighters attended an address along Concession 6 in Chepstow for a workplace incident where they discovered a man was trapped under a concrete wall.
37 year old Nick Wood of Hanover died and 35 year old Joseph O’Brien of Arran-Elderslie was transported to a London area trauma centre.
One online fundraiser aims to help pay for the Wood’s funeral and also to put money away for his two young children and for his family.
The other fundraiser aims to help cover any needed medical expenses not fully covered by insurance, for O’Brien who was airlifted to a London trauma centre, including the cost of treatments, travel to medical facilities, and lost income during recovery.
OPP did not release the identities of the men, whose names are in the GoFund Me pages for them.
The Ministry of Labour is investigating the incident.
