The first polls have closed in the 2025 federal election and results are starting to trickle in from Atlantic Canada.
Polls have closed in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, P.E.I. As of 8:15 p.m., the Liberals are leading or elected in 17 ridings and the Conservatives 11.
In Ontario, polling stations remain open until 9:30 p.m.
Members of Parliament will be elected in 343 ridings across the country. It would take winning 172 seats for a political party to form a majority government.
