Concession 8 E in Saugeen Shores is closed for the rehabilitation of the Gowanlock Bridge.
The concession, which intersects with Bruce Road 17 between Port Elgin and Burgoyne, is a relatively well-known route that connects to Bruce Road 3.
The Town says it will be closed for about three weeks, but construction schedules are subject to change based on weather and site conditions.
The scope of work for the Gowanlock Bridge includes localized re-coating of steel barrier posts and pier armouring, localized concrete repairs along the exterior soffit, the replacement of rotten barrier posts, and repair to the asphalt approaches.
A detour route that goes through Burgoyne is in place.
