Grey Bruce OPP says that a second person has been charged in connection with the murder of Emerson Sprung.
The 25-year-old was killed in May 2020. The investigation into his death started as a search for a missing person on May 3, 2020. His remains were found three days later.
On May 12th of that year, 34-year-old Matthew McQuarrie was charged with Sprung’s death.
After the start of a jury trial in Owen Sound, McQuarrie pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Police have now charged 32-year-old Laurel Campbell, as an accessory after the fact.
She’s been held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in an Owen Sound court in September.
