The Owen Sound River District is set to come alive this month with the annual Hottest Street Sale.
River District Community Services Department Coordinator Viveca Gravel says the event is set to hit the downtown area July 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. along 2nd Avenue East.
“The plan is that we have made it bigger and better than ever. Not only do we have nearly 200 vendors, tons of places to eat, our community stage is back with a bunch of kids and stuff and there are groups performing. The Summerfolk stage is back and sponsored by Mix 106.5 this year, a whole line up from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.,” says Gravel.
She adds for the first time, they will also have touch a truck, where people will be able to look at and jump in a number of municipal and farming vehicles in the 1000 block. She adds there will also be various games for children to play as well.
Most River District businesses will be participating in the event all selling their products on sale.
“It’s important because it gives everyone a chance to come down, see the shops that are here, experience a really vibrant River District main street and start to really familiarize themselves with the culture the availability within the River District,” says Gravel.
