The South Bruce Grey Health Centre has announced a number of upcoming emergency department closures at the Chesley, Durham and Walkerton hospitals.
They say the reason for the closures is insufficient staffing numbers.
The Chesley Emergency Department will be closed:
Friday, August 11 at 5:00 PM, reopening Tuesday, August 15 at 7:00 AM
The Durham Emergency Department will be closed:
Friday, August 11 at 5:00 PM, reopening Saturday, August 12 at 7:00 AM
Saturday, August 12 at 5:00 PM, reopening Sunday, August 13 at 7:00 AM
Sunday, August 13 at 5:00 PM, reopening Monday, August 14 at 7:00 AM
Monday, August 14 at 5:00 PM, reopening Tuesday, August 15 at 7:00 AM
The Walkerton Emergency Department will be closed:
Friday, August 11 at 5:00 PM, reopening Saturday, August 12 at 7:00 AM
The South Bruce Grey Health Centre says ambulance by-pass has been undertaken to divert patients to the nearest open ED.
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 911 to be taken to the nearest Emergency Department. For non-urgent health care needs, Health Connect Ontario is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions by calling 811.
