Work continues on the new Port Elgin Paramedic Station.
The three-bay paramedic station now has HVAC and sprinkler systems installed, the underlayment for the sloped portion of the roof is in place, and the flat portion of the roofing is complete.
The new building also has its interior ductwork, water heaters and boilers installed, and work on drywall was scheduled to start at the end of July.
Director Steve Schaus provided an update during Thursday’s Paramedic Services Committee meeting.
Construction on the facility started in June 2022, and despite a labour shortage and supply chain issues, occupancy for the building is expected to happen later this year.
