Saugeen shores police have issued a reminder on social media saying, urinating in public and consuming alcohol in a vehicle will get you a visit from the Police.
Police say on Tuesday (Aug 2nd) at about 7:30 in the evening, they were called to a business near the intersection of Goderich Street and Ivings Drive which is in the area of the Circle K, LCBO and Mary Brown’s Chicken.
Police say they had received a report of people urinating on the side of a building.
Officers caught up to the the suspect vehicle and say the occupants denied consuming any alcohol.
Police say they observed several cans of open alcohol within the vehicle.
All three occupants were charged under the Liquor Licence Act with total fines of $465.
According to Saugeen Shores police, the town’s bylaw officer is currently working with the Town to attempt to establish a nuisance bylaw that would include fines for urinating, vomiting and defecating in public.
Police say there are several businesses in the area that have public washrooms to use, adding, “Let’s keep our community classy and clean.”
