Bruce County is implementing traffic calming measures throughout the county.
Bruce County Transportation and Environmental Services staff are setting up vertical centreline treatment devices.
The devices create a narrowing effect and a median on the road.
Warden Janice Jackson says these metal signs mounted in the middle of the road, will prompt drivers to slow down when they approach.
“They are designed to slow traffic down and they work quite effectively,” says Jackson.
The communities which will benefit from this initiative include Arkwright, Barrow Bay, Burgoyne, Dobbington, Eden Grove, Lion’s Head, Formosa, Glammis, Mildmay Absalom Street West, Paisley on Bruce Road 1 and Bruce Road 11, Invermay, Colpoy’s Bay, Bruce Road 1 in Kinloss and Bruce Road 22.
The county says for Bruce Road 1 in Kinloss, there will be no impact on large farm equipment traveling in this area.
