The Huron Shores Shores Hospice in Tiverton held a fundraising hike event that blew past its goal.
The hike was held Saturday morning (May 7), and Hospice Co-chair Cheryl Cottrill says as of about 4 Saturday afternoon $78,488 had been donated.
She says the goal was $60,000.
169 registered hikers actively raised funds for the event. Cottrill says there were also lots of children and virtual hikers adding to that total.
The top fundraising team was the Nuclear Powered Design Team raising $18,997
The second team was Bruce Power Operational $ Project Services raising $10,322
