It may be spring, but some wintry weather is expected in Grey Bruce on Monday.
Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for most of Bruce and Grey counties with snowfall, heavy at times, expected in the afternoon/evening.
Forecasters say 4 to 8 centimetres could fall in total. During the peak of the weather event, up to 3 cm/hour could come down.
According to Environment Canada, the precipitation is expected to begin as rain this afternoon before quickly changing to snow.
“The snow is expected to fall heavily for a few hours leading to reduced visibility at times. Above freezing temperatures early in the day may limit snowfall accumulations somewhat, especially on surfaces such as roads and sidewalks,” an advisory from Envirnoment Canada explains. “Locally higher snowfall accumulations may occur over areas of higher terrain including the Dundalk highlands and the Niagara escarpment where temperatures will be slightly cooler.”
