Public Health Grey Bruce says it will no longer publish its COVID-19 situation reports as of Monday, March 14th to coincide with the termination of the Emergency Declaration in Grey County.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra says in a release, it would be a measured approach at this point for municipalities in Grey-Bruce to declare their emergency statuses over. A number of municipalities are doing exactly that.
Arra says, “This relatively positive position is possible thanks to the efforts of Grey County residents and businesses who have been committed to public health requirements and guidelines throughout the pandemic.”
Over the course of the pandemic, public health says 52 deaths were linked to the virus in Grey Bruce.
As of Saturday, March 12th, four local people were hospitalized with the virus and the seven-day average number of cases that were testing positive was about 26 which a public health graph labels as ‘stable.’ Public Health notes, “New cases reported do not reflect actual caseloads in the community, however, they provide an accurate representation of the trends of transmission in the community.”
