The South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) is looking for community advisors to sit on the Patient and Family Advisory Council.
A release notes, the council operates in an advisory capacity, making recommendations on topics impacting patients and families, ensuring excellent care experiences.
The council was created in 2017 and focuses on the advocacy for patient-centred care, specifically on the role of the patient and family during their health care journey.
SBGHC President and CEO Michael Barrett says listening to the voice of patients and families is key to the hospital organization’s commitment to providing high quality care to the community.
“Our patient and family advisors have been a valuable resource for the hospital over the last number of years,” says Barrett. “The personal experience and perspective that our advisors bring to the table ensures that the patient and family voice is reflected in our planning and decision making.”
SBGHC notes they are looking for advisors who have had a recent experience as a patient or family member at one of the four hospital sites in Chesley, Durham, Kincardine, or Walkerton within the past three years.
More details can be found on the SBGHC website.
