A popular summer transit service in Saugeen Shores will not be running for a second straight year.
The Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce says the S.S. Trolley is suspended for the 2021 season.
“While this is disappointing for the (Chamber), our current situation has not improved significantly enough to guarantee the safety of our passengers and drivers this season,” Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce president Steve Harris says. “We will spend the year reviewing all operations including funding, costs, hours of operation, routes, health and safety.”
The S.S. Trolley typically travels between Southampton and Port Elgin during the summer months and makes several stops at various attractions in Saugeen Shores.
It was parked during the summer of 2020 as well due to the pandemic.
