$5.9 million is coming to local municipalities in infrastructure funding.
Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker says it’s from the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF)
The fund supports municipalities as they build and repair roads, bridges, water and wastewater infrastructure.
Walker says in a statement, “Our government continues to support our local municipalities by creating jobs, attracting economic growth and investment and making our communities the best place to live and grow.”
He adds, “We all know how important it is for our local municipalities to maintain and upgrade their infrastructure. This funding will help build and repair roads, bridges, water and wastewater infrastructure in our communities.”

About $200 million in funding was allocated to small, rural and northern communities for 2021. Municipalities may accumulate their OCIF funding for up to five years to address larger infrastructure projects.
