Today is the deadline for applying for the Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance (CECRA) subsidy and the Canada Emergency Business Account.
There are concerns with the programs ending, we may witness a round of evictions for struggling small businesses and residents, who aren’t able to pay their monthly rents due to the pandemic.
The Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses (CFIB) is calling on senior governments for a renewed rent relief program that offers small businesses direct assistance.
