The province of Ontario has announced its third Long Term Care project.
Premier Doug Ford and Long-Term Care Minister Merrilee Fullerton announced today, that 320 new beds will be built at Humber River Hospital in Toronto.
Fullerton says it usually takes 36 months to build a new long term care home, but with use of hospital land and other changes to the process, this new facility is expected to be complete by the end of 2021.
The premier has previously promised to spend 1.75 billion dollars over five years and to create 33 thousand new long term care beds over ten years.
