Some basic services will re-open at Bruce Peninsula National Park today.
A statement from Parks Canada explains visitors will be able to access trails adjacent to the visitor centre, Singing Sands and Little Cove. Limited parking spaces and washroom facilities will be available at the locations of the national park that are re-opening.
Some trails at Singing Sands will still be closed due to high water levels. The viewing tower near the visitor centre also remains closed.
The Grotto and all other areas of Bruce Peninsula National Park — including the visitor centre, Halfway Log Dump and the Bruce Trail from Crane Lake to Little Cove — remain closed until further notice.
All camping facilities in national parks will remain closed until at least June 21.
“Visiting Bruce Peninsula National Park will be different than it has been in the past. In addition to reduced Parks Canada services, many local tourism businesses and accommodations remain closed or are only offering limited or adapted services,” says Parks Canada Public Relations and Communications Officer Bruce MacMillan in an email.
Parks Canada is urging visitors to follow the advice of public health experts, including necessary hygiene practices and adequate physical distancing.
