Chalk up another nuclear supply company to open an office in Saugeen Shores to serve Bruce Power.
Although Siemens Canada is no stranger to Bruce Power, having worked with the facility for decades, it's the first time an office has been opened in the area.
Siemens Vice President of Service and Digital Jason Jermark says they're thrilled to have an anchor in the community.
The 2,000 square-foot office is located in the South Gate Commercial Plaza on Highway 21, just south of Canadian Tire, where several other suppliers have set up shop.
Siemens will provide upgrades, technical services and parts deliveries to support the life extension program of Bruce Power units.
Jermark says they're not sure how many people will be working out of the office or on-site at Bruce.
He says they have 5 working at the office right now.
Down the road, they'll be looking seriously at Indigenous employment.
He says Siemens is a member in good standing with the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business and “we're looking forward to partnering with the local First Nations.”
