It's a good weekend to go digging into your family history in Owen Sound.
The Owen Sound Family History Centre is holding its 4th open house to help people research their family history.
On Saturday (May 4th) From 9 am until 4 pm there will be experienced researchers on hand at the centre at 490 Second Avenue South East.
There will be free genealogy consultants available for Canada, the USA, Scotland, Ireland, England, Italy and more.
Event organizer Mary Lang says,”You're going to see a gym full of busy activity with consultants all around the gym at separate tables, specializing with signage their area of interest and expertise.”
Experts will help people use the premium free websites to track their family history.
There will also be displays on local history, black history and local indigenous history.
Between 9:15 and noon there are a number of workshops:

Cathy LockeĀ – DNA
At 1 p.m. Paul Barber from the Bruce Grey Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society, who is a family historian and retired professional photographer will give a talk about how to organize you print and digital family photo files.
