A veteran Owen Sound police officer faces numerous charges under the Police Services Act.
Constable Brian Follis has been charged with six counts of Discreditable Conduct, five counts of Neglect of Duty, two counts of Deceit and one count each of Insubordination and Breach of Confidence.
Follis has been suspended from duty, with pay.
Chief Bill Sornberger says the investigation by an unnamed, external police service started last November.
The case involved alleged incidents that took place between February and July of 2013.
Follis — who is an wight year veteran of the force — is alleged to have started a personal and sexual relationship with a victim of the alleged crime, after becoming involved in that investigation.
Police say the complaint was not initiated by the victim.
The allegations are not of a criminal nature, so instead of being in court — the case will be heard by a hearing officer at the Owen Sound Police station on July 3rd.
