Beavers have always been a problem in the North end of Georgian Bluffs, and now the municipality is fighting back.
According to Mayor, Al Barfoot, Council has hired a “trapper” from Wiarton to help clear out the nuisance rodents.
Traditionally, only “trappers” from Georgian Bluffs have been hired.
You may remember back in November, the township closed a section of Zion Church Road because a beaver damn caused major flooding in the area.
Barfoot tells Bayshore Broadcasting News, if they don’t keep the beaver population under control, flooding could continue into the Spring.
The Mayor believes the additional “trapper” will help solve the issue.
