Walkerton’s jail is rocking on Saturday, as it plays host to the second annual Jailhouse Rock concert.
The 10 hour concert is taking place in the courtyard at the now closed Walkerton Jail — and it features six acts performing folk, celtic and classic rock music.
The line up include tributes to the Tragically Hip, John Mellencamp, Billy Joel and Elton John.
The show will end with a performance by “Stella” — one of Canadas most popular Top 40 bands.
The concert is a fundraiser for the Walkerton Kinsmen Club.
Proceeds will be go towards the Kinsmen’s 80 thousand dollar Splash Pad project that officials hope to begin in the Spring.
Jailhouse Rock Spokesperson Christine Brandt says the Walkerton Jail makes a great venue for a concert.
She says the entire courtyard has been transformed.
Tickets are $50 and if they are not yet sold out, they can be purchased at the door.
Last year’s concert was a sold out event.
