The investigation by Environment Canada into whether a tornado or a downburst caused crop damage between Goderich and Lucknow is continuing.
Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says significant storm cells did move through the region between 4:30 AM and 5:30 AM on Wednesday.
Coulson says at this point, the damage around Dungannon is consistent with a downburst and does not appear to have reached the stage of tornado damage.
Residents in the area reported large hail and roaring winds with trees and crops damaged in the storm.
Coulson says his investigation at Dungannon, and into damage in Eastern Ontario yesterday afternoon continue today.
But again, he believes the incident at Dungannon was simply a downburst from the storm cell.
